User-Centered and Environment-Focused Design
Our design process starts by assessing both the user and the environment in which the chair will be used. We examine the physical demands, work patterns, and external conditions that can influence the seating experience. From there, we identify how our platforms and integrated core technologies can foster a more supportive relationship between the user and the environment.

Versatile Seating is built around a family of distinct seating platforms, each designed for a specific range of users, applications, and performance requirements. Those platforms are then integrated with selected core technologies—including VersaFrame™, Strataflex™, and Comfort Core™—according to the needs of each product family.
The result is not one chair with cosmetic variations, but a flexible system of platforms and technologies that can be configured to create different seating solutions for different environments.
AE Vital Restore™ is a separate AE Vital Systems product with its own integrated recirculating technology, designed to support active recovery and complement traditional seating where appropriate.
North Carolina Manufacturing and Assembly
Versatile Seating products are produced in a certified manufacturing and engineering facility in North Carolina, supporting skilled domestic assembly, quality control, and product readiness across our seating line. Products for AE Vital Systems, with whom Versatile Seating maintains an ongoing commercial relationship, are also produced through this same manufacturing facility. This manufacturing structure provides access to an established Tier 1 component supply network, reliable component inventory, and the flexibility to support both standard and specialized seating solutions. The combination of experienced manufacturing, domestic assembly, and broad component availability helps us deliver consistent quality, dependable product availability, and strong value across a wide range of applications.
Performance Materials, Purposefully Selected
We select materials based on how they support the performance goals of each seating solution and the demands of the environment in which it will be used. While these materials are sourced from specialized manufacturers, they are chosen because their durability, cleanability, comfort, and other performance characteristics align with the needs of the end user and the application.
Moonscape
We feature Moonscape, a high-performance upholstery rated for 378,000 double rubs to withstand heavy daily use. Made from 100% recycled polyester, it offers a durable and environmentally responsible seating solution. Nanotex and NanoGuard finishes provide advanced stain resistance and make routine cleaning easier, while its Safe and Clean certification confirms that it is responsibly manufactured without antimicrobial chemical additives.
Wellington XJ
Wellington XJ is a commercial-grade polyurethane upholstery engineered for demanding environments. It offers strong resistance to abrasion, tearing, and scuffing, can be cleaned with a 10% bleach solution, and includes built-in antimicrobial protection, while maintaining a soft, refined professional appearance.
UltraLeather®
UltraLeather® combines premium comfort and an executive appearance with the durability and cleanability required for professional environments. Its soft hand, high abrasion resistance, and commercial-grade performance make it well suited to applications where both appearance and long-term durability matter.
Supporting Human Performance

Versatile Seating addresses the mechanical and postural demands of extended sitting. AE Vital Restore addresses the physiological demands associated with prolonged inactivity and recovery. The R³ Operator Performance Protocol™ provides an adaptable framework that can connect these complementary functions when an organization wants to take a broader approach to extended-shift human performance.
The products and methodology remain modular. Seating solutions, AE Vital Restore, and R³ may each be implemented independently or combined when operational needs support an integrated approach.
